Kaizen Robotics was born during a pivotal moment of global shift. In 2020, amidst the strict Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Manila, founder Sherwin Yap revisited his foundational passion: coding and robotics. In total isolation, he gave himself full permission to immerse himself in creating, stepping beyond a 25-year corporate executive career to rediscover his roots as an inventor and builder.
What began as an authentic outlet for combining advanced tech aptitude with a distinctively Filipino sense of humor resulted in a cult-like following. His creative projects sparked organic engagement across the tech ecosystem that quickly gained momentum. Business and collaboration opportunities began pouring in from the online tech community, academic institutions, media outlets, government agencies, and private enterprises.
To formalize these partnerships, Kaizen Robotics was officially incorporated in February 2022. Since then, Kaizen has been championing its cause by spearheading high-impact speaking engagements, workshops, prototyping sessions, hackathons, and multi-sector initiatives. Early collaborative partners include De La Salle Philippines in academia, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in government, and Shell Philippines in the corporate sector.
While technology is at the core of Kaizen Robotics, the prevailing values of the company have always been creativity, purpose, and fun.
Creativity is at the heart of what Kaizen promotes. The tagline “Create what you can imagine.” says it all. Technology and trainings are tools to enable creativity in action. Creating is the goal. Your imagination is the only limit. In the age of AI, creativity is our most valued asset.
Ikigai translates to your "reason for being"—the internal spark that moves you to action. Technical endeavor without purpose is hollow. True fulfillment comes from being of service, solving real-world challenges, uplifting communities, and creating lasting value. By living our purpose, we empower others to discover and build theirs.
No meaningful journey is complete without joy. While purpose provides direction and creativity enables execution, fun is what sustains momentum. When learning and building are genuinely enjoyable, perseverance becomes natural, burnout disappears, and turning vision into reality becomes an exciting pursuit.
